Mr. Michael B. Decter - President & Chief Executive Officer, LDIC Inc.

Michael B. Decter, a Harvard trained economist is the Senior Portfolio Manager, President and CEO of LDIC.  He is also the author of three financial books, The Million Dollar Strategy, The DRIP Strategy, and Ten Good Reasons To Invest in Canada.

LDIC provides a service to high net worth individuals. Michael’s primary focus is value investing in individual companies rather than sectors or geographical regions.

As a former Deputy Minister of Health for Ontario and Cabinet Secretary in the Government of Manitoba, Michael is a well-recognized speaker on broader political and economic issues. He was the founding and former Chair of the Health Council of Canada.

In 2004, he was appointed as a member of the Order of Canada in recognition of his contribution to health care service.

 

Mr. Ron E. Bailey - President, Ron Bailey and Associates Inc.

Ron is President of Ron Bailey and Associates, a fundraising and marketing consulting firm based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Ron's expertise enables him to develop and implement strategic business solutions for many charitable organizations.

Ron builds and executes strategies to increase revenues and expand recognition through various tactical activities such as planned giving, charitable gaming programs, major gift, capital campaign and special event initiatives. Clients include the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division, Asper Jewish Community Campus, United Way of Winnipeg, Brandon Regional Health Centre Foundation, Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet, the Victoria General Hospital Foundation, the Society for Manitobans with Disabilities Foundation and others.

Ron has also held senior management positions with the Crocus Investment Fund, the United Way of Winnipeg and the Government of Manitoba.

Mr. Bailey is a is a board member of Rossbrook House and the Rossbrook House Foundation in Winnipeg's Inner City,  serves as the President of the Manitoba Chapter of the Association of Fundraising professionals (AFP) and is a member of the Canada Council of AFP. Ron has served on the boards of Red River College, the Manitoba Roundtable of the Canadian Association of Gift Planners (CAGP) and the Winnipeg Folk Festival.

 

Mr. Graham Scott - President, Graham Scott Strategies Inc.

Graham Scott is a President of Graham Scott Strategies Inc. and Partner Emeritus of McMillan LLP.  He has extensive experience in public policy, governance and accountability in the voluntary sector and in the assessment of boards and management teams in both the voluntary and private sectors with a particular emphasis on health care policy and issues.

Following two years of law practice in Toronto, Graham served as Executive Assistant to the Leader of the Opposition for Canada from 1970 to 1976.  In 1976 he joined the Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General and in 1977 he became Assistant Deputy General, Courts Administration and Inspector of Legal Offices.  In 1978 he became Associate Secretary of the Cabinet and in 1979 Deputy Minister of Environment where he served until late 1981 when he became Deputy Minister of Health.  He joined McMillan Binch January 1984. 

He has been involved in the amalgamation, restructuring and governance processes of more than 40 hospitals in Ontario, working with Maureen Quigley and Maureen Quigley and Associates Inc. In 2001‑2002, Graham served as Interim President and CEO of Cancer Care Ontario. In February 2004, Graham and Maureen Quigley prepared the Report on Hospital Governance and Accountability in Ontario, commissioned by the Ontario Hospital Association with the support of the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. He has served as a Supervisor of three hospitals in Ontario during the period between 2003 and 2010 and in 2004 he was Assessor of the Muskoka-Parry Sound Board of Health. From 2005-2007 Graham served as Chair of the Academic Health Science Centres – Alternate funding Plan Task Force.

Graham serves as Chair of the Board of Canada Health Infoway, Chair of AllerGenNCE, (CIHI) and as Vice Chair of the Institute for Research on Public Policy.  Graham is a Director of the Ontario Institute for Research in Cancer, the Association of Faculities of Medicine of Canada, the Atlantic Salmon Federation, Rothesay Netherwood School and the UNTD Association of Canada.  Graham is a member of the Advisory Board of Sanofi Pasteur.  He is a former Chairman of the Canadian Institute for Health Information and a former Chairman of the Public Forum, a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to promoting greater collaboration between the public and private sectors, and past President and Director of the Friends of H.M.C.S. Haida.

In 2005, he was appointed as a member of the Order of Canada in recognition of his volunteer service.
